Summit Church is super excited to announce that they have hired a new Adult Discipleship | Campus Pastor. The Aaron Hur Group partnered with the Summit team to find just the right candidate to fit their team and their culture! Summit is a dynamic nondenominational Christian church that is located in the northern part of the state of Nevada in the city of Sparks. Summit was planted in 1999, starting with only twenty five people meeting at the YMCA and has quickly grown to become one of the largest churches in Nevada. As the church has grown over the years, they eventually moved to their current 36-acre master planned campus, with an intentionally phased building plan, expanding to include a state of the art 1,500-seat auditorium in 2022.
Summit Church is listed as the 53rd fastest growing church in America by Outreach Magazine and is located in one of the least religious areas in the US which makes Summit a great place to do ministry! Summit celebrated 263 baptisms this last year, more than doubling from the previous year. With the recent spike in attendance of new believers and transplants to the area, Summit Church weekend services are averaging almost 2500+ people! Summit Church places a high value on living the adventure that God has for all us and desires to connect with people in Sparks and the surrounding area.
Summit is planning to launch a new campus in early 2024 where Phillip Christian will serve as the new Campus Pastor. The new campus will be located in Fernley, NV only a short 45 minute drive from the Sparks campus.
To prepare to launch this campus, the Aaron Hur Group searched for a unique leader and found Phillip Christian! Phillip has served in various roles within the church with his most recent role as the Outreach Minister. When God called Phillip to full-time ministry, he was thrilled when that calling allowed him to stay where he was born and raised. He has been serving at PRCC since December 2018. Before then he was an Elder/Pastor for Cross Church Indy and Facilities Operations Supervisor for the Department of Defense. He also has served in the Indiana Army National Guard since 1997. He received a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Eduction in 2007 from IUPUI and a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Studies in 2016 from Liberty University. He married his best friend Angie in 2002, and they have been blessed with four children that definitely keep their life entertaining! His passions are to reach the un-churched, build others up in the faith through discipleship, and advance the Gospel in as many ways as possible. He enjoys playing/watching sports of all kinds, digging into God’s Word, playing guitar, and hiking/rucking. His life verse is Psalm 119:11 (ESV), “I have stored up Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”
